Lloyd’s managing agent AEGIS London has appointed Carrie Trudeau to manage Canada claims, based in Toronto.

Trudeau will strengthen relationships with London market brokers while supporting AEGIS London’s coverholders writing property and other lines of business in Canada.

In her new role she will work with and eventually replace Spencer Shusterman who has chosen to retire from his position as Senior Vice President (SVP) of Claims at the end of this year.

Shusterman established a market leading claims service in Canada after 7 years with AEGIS London.

Richard Foulger, Head of Claims at AEGIS London said; “Carrie is a great addition to our team in Canada. Her knowledge of the market, particularly with regard to claims, will build on the great work done by Spencer Shusterman. By working closely with our London brokers, Carrie will help raise our profile in Canada while providing first rate service.

“It’s this commitment to claims management that led to our receiving an Outstanding Service Quality Marque from acknowledged experts Gracechurch Consulting recently.”

Carrie joins from Crawford & Company where she was Director of Lloyd’s and Dedicated Units.

She boasts 18 years’ experience in the Canadian insurance market after beginning her career with Markel, rising to Senior Claims Examiner before joining Crawford as Client Services Manager in 2008.

She is a Fellow Chartered Insurance Professional and Canadian Risk Manager.
