Global reinsurance broker Gallagher Re has announced the appointment of Charles Amblard as Senior Advisor within the EMEA arm of its global multidisciplinary Private Equity and M&A practice (PEMA).
Amblard will be based in France, with responsibilities spanning across Europe, where he will drive new client relationship development and strengthen Gallagher’s footprint among M&A and private equity sectors.
He brings more than 25 years’ experience in helping organisations grow, transform and expand by operating at the intersection of international business development, risk management, private equity and strategic consulting.
Amblard will join on June 1 2026, bringing a proven track record in successfully launching and leading M&A and transaction solutions teams across Europe, while also developing strategies and risk solutions for European investment funds and large corporations.
He most recently served as Head of Private Equity Solutions and Head of Sales for PEMA Europe at broker Marsh. He joined the firm in 2018 following an eight-year tenure at Aon, latterly as Managing Director of Strategic Advisors & Transaction Solutions.

Over the past year, Gallagher has significantly expanded its global M&A, private capital, and portfolio solutions by recruiting multidisciplinary advisory teams across the US and EMEA.
The firm provides specialised specialist services and indemnity solutions for corporate transactions including risk and insurance due diligence, warranty & indemnity, structured credit, tax liability and contingent liability, to help private equity firms and corporations navigate risks within the current economic uncertainty.
