Charles Mathias appointed to Fidelis Board

Fidelis Insurance has announced that Charles Mathias, Group Chief Risk Officer (CRO), has been appointed to the Fidelis Board, replacing Neil McConachie.

Charles MathiasMcConachie resigned as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Director earlier in 2017, but retains a consulting relationship with the firm until the end of 2017.

Mathias joined Fidelis in 2016 from Lancashire, where he started in 2005, and brings almost three decades of industry experience to the Fidelis Board. While at Lancashire, Mathias held a number of roles, including Chief Underwriting Officer (CUO) and Group Underwriting Operations Director.

Commenting on the appointment, Chairman of Fidelis, Richard Brindle, said; “Charles’ impact, as Group Chief Risk Officer at Fidelis, cannot be overstated. Our success is built on careful and expert assessment of risk, and Charles has demonstrated his broad knowledge and leadership in this regard. I am very pleased to welcome him to our Board.”
