International specialty re/insurance group Chaucer has added April McLaughlin as head of Latin America treaty reinsurance in Miami.
McLaughlin will have responsibility for leading and growing a multi-line reinsurance offering within the region and holds over 20 years’ experience in the industry.
She joins from AXA XL, where she was head of Latin America reinsurance.
Prior to joining AXA she held senior roles at Partner Re, and began her career at Lexington.

“She has a wealth of Latin American reinsurance underwriting knowhow and a great reputation with brokers and clients.
“Her appointment emphasises our commitment to being a lead market for Latin American risks in Miami, which is now such an important a hub for the region.”
Commenting on her appointment, McLaughlin said, “I am delighted to join Chaucer’s treaty team, and I look forward to working with the teams in Miami and London to develop Chaucer’s Latin American reinsurance centre of excellence for brokers and clients.”
