Chaucer, the international specialty re/insurance group, has announced the appointment of Lesley Watkins to the position of Non-Executive Director.
Watkins is currently a non-Executive Director Non-Executive Director of Investec Bank plc and Braemar Shipping Services plc.
She has more than 20 years’ experience in financial services, having previously served as a Non-Executive Director of Game Digital plc and Panmure Gordon & Co plc.
Watkins was also a non-executive Council Member and Chair of the Audit Committee of the Competition Commission.
“John Fowle, the directors and I are delighted that Lesley is joining the Board,” said Chris Stooke, Non-Executive Chairman of Chaucer.
“She has a wealth of business experience and possesses a skillset that will complement the Board’s existing expertise,” he continued.
“I am sure that Lesley will provide invaluable oversight and constructive challenges to the business as we continue our development as a leading international specialty underwriter.”
Watkins also commented: “I am excited to be joining Chaucer at this important stage of their development now that they are part of China Re and look forward to taking up my position on the Board and working with all my new colleagues at Chaucer.”
