Facultative reinsurer Chedid Re has announced the appointment of Uptal Dutt as Portfolio Manager – Casualty & Financial lines, based in Dubai.
Dutt brings over nine years of experience in the industry. Prior to joining Chedid Re he was a Financial & Casualty underwriter for ICICI Lombard in New Delhi, a role he held for over five years.
Before ICICI Lombard, Dutt served over three years at IFFCO Tokio General Insurance Co. Ltd. as a Commercial lines underwriter in their India office.
Dutt took to LinkedIn to share the news: “I’m happy to share that I’m starting a new position as Portfolio Manager in the Facultative division – Casualty & Financial lines at Chedid Re!”
He joins the Dubai team, a few months after Chedid Re signed a five-year partnership with flood risk modeller, JBA Risk Management (JBA).
Through this partnership, the broker will be able to use JBA’s global flood model, which will enable Chedid Re to provide flood risk analytics and catastrophe modelling services to its clients across the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia.
Elie Abi Rached, Chief Executive Officer of Chedid Re in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, commented: “This latest investment will ensure that our clients are able to fully understand their flood exposure, wherever they operate in the world, and to develop appropriate risk management and mitigation strategies.”
