Ageas Re, the reinsurance division of international insurance group Ageas, has announced the appointment of Christoph Spichtig to lead its Property Underwriting for the Asia Pacific region, a Zurich-based role.
In his new role, Spichtig will leverage his experience in underwriting and management.
The executive joined Ageas Re in September following his 17-year tenure with SCOR, having most recently served as P&C Partner – Deputy CEO.
During his time with the French reinsurer, he held a number of positions, including SCOR P&C – Chief Executive Officer Asia Pacific, Chief Underwriting Officer SCOR Reinsurance Asia Pacific, Chief Underwriting Officer Hong Kong and Emerging South East Asian MArkets, and General MAnager Australia/NZ, Sydney.
Prior to his time at SCOR, Spichtig served as Underwriter/Client Relationship Manager Japan / Australia / New Zealand for Converium Capital.
