Chubb CEO Evan Greenberg elected Chairman of the USKBC

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s U.S.-Korea Business Council (USKBC) has announced that Evan G. Greenberg, Chairman and CEO of global insurer Chubb, has been elected Chairman of the USKBC, effective January 1, 2024.

Evan Greenberg, ChubbThe USKBC, comprised of leading U.S. companies operating in Korea, is in place to ensure that the U.S.-Korea Free Trade Agreement continues to benefit both economies, promoting policies that support expanded bilateral trade and investment, innovation, and private sector-driven growth.

Commenting on the appointment, Charles Freeman, the U.S. Chamber Senior Vice President for Asia, said, “The U.S. Chamber of Commerce welcomes Evan Greenberg as the new Chairman of the USKBC.

“We look forward to working with him to strengthen U.S.-Korea economic and business ties and elevate the council’s work to new heights.

“I am confident that his leadership, vision, and extensive international business experience in Asia will bring immense value to his role as incoming USKBC Chairman.”

Greenberg himself said, “I am honored to accept the appointment at this moment in U.S.-Korea relations as the two countries celebrate the 70th anniversary of the alliance and expand collaboration to address shared challenges with a strong focus on our economic partnership.

“As USKBC Chairman, I look forward to promoting improved bilateral trade and investment conditions and seeking opportunities to expand cooperation in key areas such as digital, global health, and climate change and energy transition.”
