Chubb’s Louise Joyce named Head of Industry Practices, UK&I

Louise Joyce, previously Life Sciences Manager for the UK & Ireland (UK&I) at Chubb, has been appointed as the firm’s Head of Industry Practices for the UK&I, effective immediately.

ChubbJoyce, who succeeds Karen Strong after her departure from the re/insurer, will continue to be based in Birmingham and report to Mark Roberts, Property & Casualty Chief Underwriting Officer (CUO), UK&I.

In her new role, she will take overall responsibility for the strategy, execution and performance of Chubb’s Industry Practices, which comprises Life Sciences, Technology, Entertainment, Real Estate, and Media in the UK&I.

Chubb explains that each Industry Practice brings together the re/insurer’s expertise with specialist underwriters and dedicated account engineers, all of which are aligned with the company’s multiline and multinational experience.

Chubb has also revealed that Vicki D’Silva is to succeed Joyce as Life Sciences Manager for the UK&I, effective immediately. She will report to Joyce and will be based in Birmingham, and will take responsibility for leading the firm’s Life Sciences team and overseeing strategic development and execution.

Additionally, Chubb has named Christopher Daniel as Technology Practice Manager, UK & Ireland, effective immediately. In this role, Daniel will be based in London and will report to Joyce, and will have responsibility for both the strategy and performance of Chubb’s Technology Industry Practice.

Commenting on the appointments, Roberts said: “I am delighted that we have been able to make these key appointments from within our existing team as this demonstrates the depth of expertise and experience we have at Chubb.

“I look forward to working with Louise, Vicki and Christopher in their new roles as we continue to grow this important and specialised part of our business into 2020.”
