Cincinnati Re, the reinsurance arm of Cincinnati Financial Corporation has appointed Ryan Chefalas as Director, Specialty Reinsurance.
In his new role he will be based in New York.
Chefalas joins Cincinnati Re after a near four-year term at OdysseyRe. In his most recent role at the firm he served as Vice President, and also previously served as a Senior Underwriter within property, marine, and energy treaty reinsurance.
Before joining OdysseyRe, he spent over six years at Starr Insurance Companies, where he was also based in New York.
He joined the firm in 2013 as an Underwriting Risk Analyst within Starr Tech’s portfolio management team. In this role he analysed catastrophe models for Starr’s Property Insurance divisions, as well as providing CAT modeling support to domestic and several international offices.
In 2015, Chefalas was then named Jr. Loss Control Consultant, and would serve in this role for just over a year before being appointed to Associate Underwriter.
For the rest of his tenure at the firm, Chefalas served within various underwriting roles until he moved to OdysseyRe in 2019.
