Club Vita, an independent longevity data analytics company, has announced the promotion of Shantel Aris to Head of Longevity Experience Studies, and the appointments of Michael Reid, Alexandra Sonnenwirth and Mia Marcellus.

Aris takes over her new role following over two years as Longevity Risk Modeler at Club Vita. Prior to that, she spent over four years at RBC Insurance. She also held roles at the University of Waterloo, Victoria Mutual Group and Sagicor Life Insurance Company.

Reid has been appointed Head of Pensions North America. He joins Club Vita from CEM Benchmarking Inc, where he most recently served as VP Relationship Management, a role he held for almost six years

Sonnenwirth was appointed Director, Client Delivery. She joins the company from LifeWorks where she served as a Investment & Risk Senior Consultant following her role as Investment & Risk Consultant.

Marcellus was appointed Longevity Modeller. Prior to Club Vita she spent over two years at McGill University, where she held a number of roles.

In addition to these appointments, Club Vita also announced that Richard Brown is stepping down from his position as Canadian Chief Operating Officer.

Brown was Club Vita’s first joiner in Canada in 2015. Over the last eight years, he has overseen its growth from a startup to a network of around 100 large pension funds pooling their mortality data, with a collective data set approaching 1m retirees.

Michael Reid is taking on Brown’s Canadian leadership responsibilities. He commented: “I am honored to be taking on this new role. I am excited to work with the team to continue to grow and provide outstanding services to the full eco-system of Canadian defined benefit longevity risk stakeholders. I am confident that we can achieve great things together.”
