CNA names James Chief Risk & Reinsurance Officer, Miralles to lead Warranty

U.S. commercial property and casualty (P&C) insurer, CNA, has announced a couple of management changes in Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) and Warranty, including the appointment of Mark James as Chief Risk and Reinsurance Officer.

CNAIn his new role, James assumed leadership of the firm’s ERM function and maintains leadership for the Global Reinsurance team.

He joined CNA in 2018, and prior to this, served as Worldwide Reinsurance and Risk Manager at global insurer and reinsurer Chubb for 13 years, before moving to AIG as the Deputy Chief Ceded Reinsurance Officer.

CNA has also announced that Al Miralles, who has served as the firm’s Chief Risk Officer (CRO) since 2017, has been appointed President of CNA Warranty. In his new role, Miralles takes responsibility for both the oversight and management of CNA’s Warranty business and will continue to provide strategic oversight for Long Term Care.

Miralles replaces Brian Loebach, who after 40 years with CNA, the last decade of which he spent leading Warranty, is to retire at the end of 2019.
