Elaine Whelan, Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Executive Director of Conduit Holdings, the ultimate parent company of Conduit Re, a multi-line Bermuda-based reinsurer, has informed the Board of her intention to retire.
Whelan will continue serving in her current roles to ensure a smooth transition and will step down from the Board and her executive role on September 30th, 2026.
The Board has commenced a formal process to identify a successor, and further updates will be provided in due course, explained Conduit.
In her current role, Whelan is based in Bermuda and responsible for all aspects of Conduit’s financial management and reporting.
She also serves as an Executive Director on the boards of Conduit Holdings Limited and Conduit Reinsurance Limited, and is a member of the Executive Committee.
Following her qualification as a chartered accountant, Whelan joined Coopers & Lybrand before moving into the re/insurance industry in increasingly senior finance roles with Zurich and later Lancashire Group, where she ultimately served as Group CFO from 2011 to 2020.
