Global specialty re/insurance broker Consilium has appointed Ben Compton as Associate Partner to its Cedent Facultative Risk Solutions team in Singapore, which has been granted its broking license from the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS).

consilium logo Compton brings over a decade of worth of experience, having most recently served as Vice President, Property, Political Violence, and Terrorism Placement at Marsh.

In the past, he has held roles in carrier management and insurer relationships at JLT Group. He joins Robert Drysdale, who leads the Singapore office, having joined the broker earlier this year.

Compton’s expertise complements the existing team in Singapore and the broker’s global Cedent Facultative Risk Solutions division in London, as it aims to expand both class and territory.

The Singapore team gives clients across the Asia Pacific region a seamless, single access point to global reinsurance markets, including those in Asia, the Middle East and London for a wide range of Specialty classes.

It also combines the technical knowledge of its team, and the AI and technology-driven broker enablement capabilities of its proprietary ecosystem, ATOMX, to deliver facultative reinsurance solutions.

Robert Drysdale, Chief Executive Officer, Consilium Insurance Brokers, APAC Pte Ltd, commented on the appointment, “With our broking licence in place, Singapore will play a significant role in our growth strategy across the Asia Pacific region, and our team is hungry to start delivering value to clients.

“With that in mind, we’re delighted to welcome Ben to the team. He brings specialist knowledge and expertise that will help to grow our range of Facultative Reinsurance solutions for clients and further build our presence in the region.”
