Catastrophe risk modeller CoreLogic has entered a strategic alliance with Vexcel Imaging, a global leader in aerial imagery to get access to aerial imagery from the US, Canada, Western Europe and Australia, including post-disaster (Gray Sky) imagery captured after wildfires, hurricanes and tornadoes.
This imagery is part of CoreLogic’s broader roadmap for implementing artificial intelligence (AI) driven analysis and measurements.
Vexcel refreshes its imagery library annually, covering more than 90% of the US population, with urban areas refreshed up to three times yearly. This will allow CoreLogic to provide clients with up-to-date and high-resolution imagery consistently.
In response to the ongoing Los Angeles wildfires, CoreLogic has embedded Vexcel’s high-resolution disaster response aerial imagery within CoreLogic Weather Insight, a platform designed to provide detailed weather-related data and analytics and allow property organisations to make more informed decisions.
This integration will enable insurance, restoration, and other property companies to analyse their portfolios quickly against property-specific damage assessments and total reconstruction costs. Companies will also gain a comprehensive understanding of their overall financial exposure and manage appropriate resources.
