International law firm DAC Beachcroft has expanded its footprint in the United States by establishing a new Miami office and new insurance coverage teams in both Miami and Los Angeles.
Joel McNabney, Partner and Audrey Goldman, Counsel, have joined the firm in Miami and are experts in insurance and reinsurance, advising insurers and underwriters on complex, high-exposure coverage matters.
The pair will work closely with Sascha Stullenberg, Latin America Business Development Manager, who has held the role since 2015.
Meanwhile, in Los Angeles, Mitch Popham and Melina Kountouris have joined as Partner and Counsel, respectively.
Popham is a highly experienced trial attorney who has led multibillion-dollar cases spanning business litigation, event cancellation, class action defence, and high-stakes insurance disputes.
Kountouris advises insurers on intricate coverage matters, including first- and third-party cases across general liability, errors and omissions, property and casualty, and cyber policies.
DAC Beachcroft established its Miami presence in 2015 as a strategic hub to support its Latin American network, and the new office will play a central role in meeting client needs across the region.
Helen Faulkner, Managing Partner, DACB, said, “Our US operations continue to grow at pace, and we’re excited to see that momentum build. By bolstering the exceptional talent within our US team, we’re tapping into a thriving legal market where there is a demand for legal professionals who can navigate disputes, compliance, and claims issues with confidence and agility.”
Gustavo Blanco, Head of International Business, DACB, commented, “The US is a dynamic yet complex market and in strengthening our position, we’re creating new opportunities for clients and colleagues alike. This expansion reflects our commitment to delivering market-leading expertise across the global insurance industry.”
In January 2025, DACB opened offices in New York and Los Angeles, integrating insurance-focused teams from two different US law firms. The New York office expanded further in March 2025 with the addition of another widely respected insurance coverage team.
In 2025, DACB also announced strategic associations with leading insurance law firms in Ecuador and Australia.
The firm expanded in Latin America and Asia-Pacific in 2024, opening offices in Hong Kong and Lima to enhance its global offering in insurance, shipping, international trade, and commodities.
