Davies appoints Paul O’Brien as the firm’s first Group Chief AI Officer

Davies, the specialist in professional services and technology, has appointed Paul O’Brien as its first Group Chief Artificial Intelligence (AI) Officer.

This appointment comes as the firm makes significant investments to leverage innovation and capitalise on the value of AI, including the use of generative AI (GenAI), across its operations.

davies groupIn the newly created role, O’Brien will be responsible for advancing the use of AI technology throughout the organisation.

He will develop a core strategy for the ethical use and expansion of GenAI across products and services, aimed at delivering additional value for the firm’s global client base.

O’Brien will continue as Chief Technology Officer alongside his new role. He will report to Mark Grocott, Chief Executive Officer of Davies’ Global Solutions division and Jen Morrissey, Davies Chief Operations Officer.

In his most recent role as Chief Technology Officer of Davies’ Global Solutions division, O’Brien has been supporting the development and launch of a portfolio of technology products for the insurance and financial services and other highly regulated markets.

He has also played a key role in assessing emerging technologies in order to drive the overall global technology strategy for the firm’s Insurance Solutions, Consulting, Technology Solutions and Forensic Accounting business units.

Davies’ investment in a range of AI solutions includes “Lauri,” a claims technology portfolio designed to significantly reduce average handling times and improve the accuracy of claim valuations in personal injury and credit hire claims.
