Global law firm DLA Piper has announced the expansion of its international re/insurance practice into Luxembourg, naming David De Cubber as counsel and local Head.
De Cubber holds over two decades of experience in the industry and has a proven track record of success in the insurance and financial services industries, having acted as Head of Legal at Lombard International Assurance for six years and Head of Legal at HSBC Private Luxembourg for another six years.
DLA Piper suggests that he will play a key role in expanding its services and in strategically positioning the office as a key market participant in that field.
The firm adds that his background has given him a unique insight into the legal, regulatory, and contractual aspects of the insurance and banking sectors which will allow him to address the challenges faced by insurance companies and professionals of the financial sector.
