Gustavo Baraldi has joined as the Head LATAM, Reinsurance for Financial Lines & Casualty, DUAL Group. The role is based out of São Paulo in Brazil and was effective from July 2023.
DUAL is an underwriting business founded in 1998. The company is one of the largest international MGA’s with over $3.2 billion of GWP.
Prior to this, Baraldi served as the Head of Financial Lines at Generali Global Corporate & Commercial for a period of one year also based out of Brazil.
Baraldi is a market veteran, having also worked with AIG for more than five years. He most recently was the Financial Lines Coordinator at the company but has also held the position of a Senior Financial Lines Underwriter.
Prior to that, Baraldi served as the Senior Financial Lines Underwriter at Berkley International Seguros S.A.
Baraldi started his career at Chubb NA and stayed with the company for more than 5 years. He held the position of Senior Financial Lines Underwriter, Financial Lines Underwriter Jr. and Financial Lines Underwriter.
His remit in the role served as the basis of his expertise, some of which included underwriting terms and conditions on commercial and financial institutions for financial lines products and was responsible for making effective underwriting decisions based on the interests of the company whilst handling clients’ expectations.
