Labuan Reinsurance (L) Ltd (Labuan Re) has appointed Encik Zaid Aziz Ibrahim as its Officer in Charge, following the recent departure of Puan Johana Era Zainuddin on December 31, 2024.
Encik Zaid currently serves as the firm’s Chief Underwriting Officer. He has been with the organisation since February 2020.
Overall, he brings over 28 years of expertise across risk management, consumer retail, insurance broking, insurance and reinsurance industries in Malaysia and Singapore, towards his new role.
From what we understand, he will work closely with the firm’s leadership team, in order to continue driving the company’s strategic initiatives in Conventional Reinsurance, ReTakaful, Managing General Agents (MGA) and Lloyd’s capital investments.
Throughout his career, Encik Zaid has served at a variety of different companies, including Allianz Re Singapore and Asia Capital Reinsurance Group Pte Ltd.
In addition, he also previously worked at QBE Insurance Malaysia, where he held the role of Head of Underwriting for just over a year before joining Labuan Re in early 2020.
