Consilium, a specialty re/insurance broking business of the Aventum Group, has announced the appointment of Ethan Godlieb as Associate Partner to lead Cyber, Tech, and Fintech within its Professional & Executive Risks Division.
Godlieb will join Consilium in May after completing his notice period at Aon, where he serves as Cyber and Technology E&O Broker. With eight years of experience in commercial broking, Ethan brings specialised expertise in cyber and data risks for both mid-market and global companies.
This appointment is a significant milestone for Consilium, reflecting the firm’s ability to attract top talent in the industry.
Godlieb was recognised as the BIBA Young Broker of the Year in 2024, further solidifying his reputation in the market.
He is already well-established as a leader in cyber risk management, known for his innovative approach, complex risk appetite, client-facing skills, and knowledge sharing.
Godlieb’s career highlights include being named to an international cyber panel, joining the CII New Generation Programme, and contributing to the upcoming Young Broker Panel at BIBA 2025.
His expertise aligns with Consilium’s ongoing efforts to address key challenges in the cyber insurance market, such as the ambiguity in standard wordings between PI and cyber, and the need for an appropriate rate adjustment following the long-running soft market and the evolving geopolitical landscape.
In his new role, Godlieb will work to expand Consilium’s cyber portfolio, both in terms of class and geographical reach. He will collaborate with complementary teams within Consilium to offer tailored cyber insurance solutions and specialised risk management strategies that address the growing risks businesses face today across all sectors.
Nick Bachmann, Managing Partner of Consilium said: “We’re excited to welcome Ethan to the team. A true rising star in the market he embodies our ‘all-in’ mentality, vision and determination to inspire the market.
“I have no doubt he’ll help us expand our book and appetite to all sizes and complexities of risk. Cyber is still a relatively new sector of the market, and it is certainly a complex one. Our aim, with the help of Ethan, is to make cyber simple and deliver specialist expertise that our clients can trust.”
