Everest Insurance, a division of global reinsurer Everest Re Group, has announced that Christopher McKeon, current Vice President and Head of Commercial Casualty, will also assume leadership for the company’s Risk Management business unit.
Risk Management and Commercial Casualty will continue to join with the Workers’ Compensation, Multinational, Energy and Transportation & Logistics units to make up Everest Insurance’s Risk Management Group.
With more than 25 years’ industry experience, McKeon will be responsible for supporting the Risk Management unit’s focus on customised primary casualty solutions for large accounts.
Before joining Everest in March 2017, McKeon held various primary casualty leadership roles at AIG, including as Head of Primary Casualty for its Corporate Accounts group.
In his new role, McKeon will be based in Everest’s New York City office and will report to David Sandler, President of the Risk Management Group, who commented: “Risk Management is a key focus for Everest. We have an experienced and respected underwriting team, backed by both a capable infrastructure and the financial strength of the Everest Group.”
“By appointing Chris to lead this group, we further enhance those capabilities by adding a known commodity with outstanding leadership skills and an extensive network of brokerage and client relationships,” McKeon added.
“Chris’ thoughtful and strategic approach, combined with his deep technical expertise and a focus on execution, has driven outstanding results in our Commercial Casualty unit and makes him extremely well suited to add leadership of our Risk Management business as well.”
He continued: “While Risk Management and Commercial Casualty will remain distinct units, focusing respectively on the upper middle market and large account customer segments, there are a number of synergies that we believe we can take greater advantage of by combining the leadership of the two groups under Chris.”
