Everest Insurance bolsters underwriting leadership with three exec hires

Everest Insurance, a division of Bermuda-based insurer and reinsurer Everest Re Group, has announced three new executive appointments within its underwriting leadership team.

everest insuranceMike Harnett has been named Chief Underwriting Officer in North America. He joined Everest in 2017 as deputy CUO after 13 years with ACE.

Harnett will report to Everest Insurance COO Mike Mulray, and remain based in the company’s Philadelphia office.

Erik Nikodem, who joined in May 2016 to lead the newly formed US Property division, has been appointed Global Head of Property.

Prior to joining Everest, Nikodem worked at AIG, where he most recently held the role of President and Global Property Executive of their Americas Region.

He will continue to report to Everest Insurance President & CEO, Mike Karmilowicz, and remain based in the company’s Boston office.

Neil Lightbown joins as CUO, Everest Global Markets from Allied World Assurance after five years with the firm.

He was most recently Global Markets Chief Underwriting Officer and has nearly four decades of experience.

Lightbown also reports to Mike Mulray and Vincent Vandendael, CEO of Everest Global Markets. He will be based in the company’s London office.
