Everest Insurance International, a division of Bermuda-based insurer and reinsurer Everest Group, Ltd., has hired Liberty Special Market’s (LSM) Sylvain Chegaray as Head of Marine, France.
An experienced veteran across the sector, Chegaray spent five years at LSM, where he most recently served as Marine Practice Leader.
Prior to LSM, he worked at Cooper Gay & Co Ltd., (which rebranded to Ed Broking in September 2016), as Transport Insurance Branch Manager. He held this role for just over nine years.
In a statement, Everest said: “Sylvain’s deep experience and strategic insights position us well for continued growth in the marine insurance sector.”
Meanwhile, Everest Insurance International recently appointed AXIS Capital’s Laura-Jayne Hamblin as Head of D&F Property.
Prior to AXIS Capital, she served as a class underwriter – international property at global insurer, Chubb.
Furthermore, in May, Everest Insurance officially launched its Australian Insurance operations after receiving approval from the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority.
The new entity will operate as Everest Insurance Australia with offices established in both Sydney and Melbourne.
