Everest Insurance makes appointments to Asia leadership team

Everest Insurance International, a division of Bermuda-based insurer and reinsurer, Everest Group, Ltd., has added Tomi Latva-Kiskola and Swee Keong Mah to its Asia leadership team.

everest-re-logoLatva-Kiskola has been appointed as the Head of Insurance, Asia, effective February 5, 2024. He will report to Scott Leney, Head of Asia Pacific, Everest Insurance International.

Mah, currently Interim Regional Head of Insurance, Asia, and Head of Legal, Asia Pacific, has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of Everest Insurance Singapore, reporting to Latva-Kiskola.

Leney commented: “Tomi is a highly respected leader and operator who brings significant regional experience along with a deep network of long-standing relationships spanning multiple markets.

“Tomi shares our commitment to the Asia market and knows how to deliver the bespoke solutions and best-in-class value proposition our customers need and deserve from a partner like Everest.”

Latva-Kiskola is a senior insurance professional with extensive experience leading insurance operations and teams throughout Asia.

Most recently, he was President & CEO of AIG Insurance Hong Kong Limited, where he transformed the structure of the regional operation and markedly improved loss ratios and business performance. Previously, he served as Chief Executive Officer in Thailand and led shared services operations in Asia and Europe throughout his 15-year tenure at the company.

Before AIG, Latva-Kiskola served as a senior advisor to numerous international insurance, financial services, energy, and pharmaceutical clients.

Mah joined Everest in 2022 and has since played a pivotal role in establishing the division’s Singapore operations as a member of the Asia Pacific leadership team.

Before Everest, Mah served in various General Counsel roles including Head of Legal, Risk & Compliance for Asia and Middle East at Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance.
