A newly established centralised management platform for the life and annuity sector, Foundry Insurance Services Ltd. (Foundry), has officially launched in Bermuda. The firm is led by Andrew Markus as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and focuses on investment, risk, and capital management.
Markus is a seasoned Bermuda insurance executive and is supported by his team to run the operations of Foundry. The platform operates with support from affiliates of Blackstone and certain Blackstone-managed funds.
Most recently, Markus was the CEO of Atlantic Capital Partners LLC, a strategic consultancy advising on new company formations in the insurance and reinsurance space, and Non-Executive Director of Kemper Bermuda Ltd.
Previously, he served as CEO, Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel of Langhorne Reinsurance (Bermuda) Ltd., a Bermuda Class E reinsurer.
In the past, has held the roles of General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer of Maritime Finance Company, and Assistant Vice President & Corporate Counsel of RenaissanceRe Ventures Ltd. He started his career as an Associate at Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP.
