Faraday Underwriting Limited (FUL), part of the General Re Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway, has appointed Nick Frankland as Non-Executive Director, effective from February 1, 2024.
The executive will also succeed Martin Pike as Non-Executive Chair in May following his retirement. Pike has been an integral part of the FUL board for nine years, including nearly six years as Chairman, the firm stated.
Frankland brings a wealth of experience to the Faraday board, having held key leadership positions in the insurance and broking industry.
He has previously served as the UK CEO of Aon Reinsurance Solutions UK and most recently as the Chairman of the Strategy and Technology group at Aon. Prior to joining Aon he has held roles at Guy Carpenter and RK Carvill
According to Faraday, Frankland’s appointment comes at a pivotal time for the company, as it looks to transition beyond its position as a mid-size syndicate with consistent upper quartile profitability.
Frankland’s expertise and insights, the company stated, will be invaluable as Faraday continues its strategic growth and diversification journey, particularly in the dynamic specialty insurance sector.
“We are thrilled to welcome Nick Frankland to the Faraday family,” said Tom Shelley, Chief Executive Officer of Faraday. “His skills, industry knowledge, and strategic vision align perfectly with our goals.”
