Fusion Specialty, a renowned global boutique M&A and specialty insurance services group, has announced the promotion of Samuel Shirley to the dual role of managing partner, M&A, Fusion Specialty UK, and global chief underwriting officer, M&A (CUO).
In his new position, effective immediately, Shirley will support the business’s growth ambitions, by bringing his market leading underwriting practices and technical expertise to bear across Fusion’s global business – which offers differentiated solutions for cross-continental transactions in the small to mid-market segment.
Shirley joined Fusion in 2022 as a senior partner, and played a pivotal role in launching and establishing Fusion’s UK operation. Prior to Fusion he had served at Aviva, where he helped grow the insurer’s M&A business and transactional risk portfolio.
Commenting on the appointment David Rogers, Fusion Specialty co-founder and executive partner, said: “Since joining Fusion Specialty UK, Samuel has consistently demonstrated exemplary leadership capabilities and his promotion is richly deserved.
