Gallagher Australia, the local arm of the global insurance brokerage, risk management and consulting firm, has appointed Johannes-Daniel Veldsman as Chief Commercial Officer, where he will oversee the company’s specialist divisions and commercial strategy.
In the role, Veldsman will manage Gallagher Australia’s areas of specialisation and support the continued development of the firm’s specialist capabilities.
The company said his experience and leadership are expected to strengthen its ability to deliver tailored insurance solutions and risk management insight for clients.
Veldsman joins Gallagher after more than seven years with Marsh, the insurance broking and risk management firm. During that time he held several senior leadership roles, most recently serving as Head of Corporate and Commercial for the Pacific region.
Earlier in his time at Marsh, Veldsman was National Manager for Growth, Digital and Innovation. Prior to this, Veldsman worked at JLT Australia as National General Manager for Specialty, focusing on product development and innovation.
Gallagher Australia said the appointment supports its ongoing focus on expanding specialist expertise and strengthening the delivery of insurance and risk advisory services for its clients.
