Gallagher looks to develop in Middle East & Africa with energy hire

Re/insurance broker Gallagher has announced plans to further develop its energy proposition in the Middle East and Africa with the addition of William Peilow as a partner in its Specialty energy team.

GallagherPeilow joins from Willis Towers Watson (WTW) and brings existing relationships with risk managers, insurance and reinsurance companies in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and wider Middle East regions, as well as retail and wholesale distributors.

He has spent the previous 13 years at WTW, most recently as a regional director for the Middle East and Africa within its natural resources team.

In this role, he was responsible for managing client relationships across power & utilities, metals & mining and oil & gas, as well as leading its business development strategy for the region.

Whilst at Willis Towers Watson, Peilow was based in Dubai from 2014 to 2016 where he worked in its partner business, Al Futtaim Willis, before moving to its Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) operation to drive its facultative reinsurance proposition and support the development of the regional reinsurance sector.

Peilow will take up his new position at Gallagher in January  2022 and will report to Nadim Semaan, partner.
