Through this integrated platform, the firm advises clients on managing transactional and contingent risks, providing a combination of advisory services and insurance-based risk transfer solutions.

Alexandra Carr joins from Howard Kennedy, where she practised for a number of years. Carr brings 15 years’ experience in complex disputes, investigations and contentious matters, acting for clients across multiple sectors. Her work has included commercial litigation, regulatory and internal investigations, insurance-related disputes and strategic risk mitigation.

Her arrival broadens the team’s experience in handling high-value and multifaceted claims, further supporting clients navigating disputes connected to transactions and other significant corporate activity. Carr’s background in managing complex legal proceedings and achieving commercially aligned outcomes complements Gallagher’s established litigation support capabilities.

Steve Jones, CEO for Private Equity, M&A, Litigation and Transactional Solutions in the UK, commented: “We are thrilled to welcome Alex into our top-ranked dispute resolution team. Her extensive experience and innovative approach to litigation will be invaluable as we continue to provide our clients with the highest level of service and support, helping them mitigate financial risk and bring greater certainty in an uncertain legal environment. Alex’s expertise not only enhances our team’s capabilities but also reinforces our position as a leader in the dispute resolution insurance sector.”

Carr added: “I am delighted to have joined Gallagher as a Director in the dispute resolution team. After many years in private practice, dealing with complex disputes, I became increasingly interested in how risk is assessed and structured at the outset of a case.

“Moving to Gallagher allows me to bring a disputes perspective to transactional insurance, focusing on identifying potential pressure points early on and helping clients approach risk in a more informed and structured way. I’m excited to work with clients to anticipate risk, unlock value and execute transactions with confidence.”
