Trade credit insurer, Atradius, has announced the appointment of Gary Geller to Head of Atradius Special Products Unit, London underwriting team.
As an industry veteran, Geller brings over 30 years of experience in trade finance, commodity trading and management of commodity-related projects to the new role.
He worked across New York, Paris and Hong Kong for 17 years with Credit Agricole and established the bank’s commodity financing activity in Asia, after having launched his career in commodities in New York in 1984.
Geller has since led investment projects related to oil trading, shipping and logistics in a trading company and worked on alternative fundraising strategies for trade finance clients across a variety of sectors.
Olivier David, global head of Atradius Special Products, commented; “The appointment of Gary to head our London underwriting team will reinforce Atradius’ commitment and technical expertise in the insurance of commodity trading and financing.”
In his new role, Geller will report to Caroline Tran, who will act as product leader for the structured single situations and political risks.
In parallel, Jesse Van Cleef will take the new role of product leader for Special Products revolving the credit risks business.
Geller received a Bachelor of Science degree from the Georgetown University School of Foreign Service in Washington D.C. and obtained a Masters of International Management from the American Graduate School of International Management in Arizona.
