Generali GC&C names Christian Kanu as CEO

Generali Global Corporate & Commercial (GC&C) has announced the appointment of Christian Kanu as Chief Executive Officer, set to take effect from January 30, 2023.

generaliIn the new role, Kanu will manage the implementation of the Generali Global Corporate & Commercial business in all markets where GC&C is present, in line with the priorities of the Group’s strategic plan “Lifetime Partner 24: Driving Growth”.

Kanu holds more than two decades of experience in the insurance industry, most recently serving as CEO of Tokio Marine Europe.

Before this, he served as Deputy CEO, having spent 16 years at Tokio Marine HCC, Financial Lines, where he operated in a variety of executive positions such as Underwriting Director/Member of the Executive Committee and Regional Manager, France, Benelux and Scandinavia.

Kanu has also served as a Captain within the Italian Army, where he was Commander of a Transport Company responsible for more than 140 vehicles, 130 employees (both military and civilian), and €8 million budget.

In addition, he is a board member of both Limes Renewable Energy and ACA Luxembourg.

Manlio Lostuzzi, Regional Officer International – Central Eastern Europe Region and current interim CEO of GC&C, will maintain his role in GC&C until 29 January 2023.
