Generali’s GC&C names Matthias Arnold new Head of Underwriting, Germany

Generali’s property & casualty (P&C) unit – Global Corporate & Commercial (GC&C) has announced the appointment of Matthias Arnold as the new Head of Underwriting in Germany.

Arnold’s appointment is effective as of July 1st, 2022.

Within his new role, Arnold will further intensify the tactical development of GC&C Germany’s portfolio, as well as ensuring underwriting excellence to generate growth and outstanding value for customers and brokers.

As the current Head of Casualty Underwriting at GC&C Germany, and with over 20 years of experience within the industry, Arnold is recognised as a highly technical leader in the German market.

Before joining Generali, Arnold worked at Marsh where he served as Head of Casualty, Region South.

Prior to Marsh, he spent over 11 years serving in various roles at Allianz, including, Underwriter Liability & Underwriting Liability.

Addressing Arnold’s appointment, Hans-Peter Klebe, Head of GC&C Germany, said: “Since Generali re-entered into the German corporate and commercial market six years ago, Matthias and his team have built up an impressive liability portfolio.
