Genworth names Haendiges as CEO of US life business

Mortgage insurer Genworth Financial has appointed Brian Haendiges as President and CEO of its U.S. Life Insurance Companies, succeeding David O’Leary, who is retiring.

genworth-logoHaendiges joined Genworth in September 2020 as Executive Vice President and Chief Risk Officer and will retain that role.

Prior to joining Genworth, Haendiges served as Senior Vice President and head of U.S. pricing and product management for MassMutual’s life insurance, disability, long term care insurance, annuity and retirement products.

He has also served in senior leadership positions at Aetna, ING and Unum.

Tom McInerney, president and CEO of Genworth commented: “Brian’s extensive expertise in product management and risk, pricing, product development, growth and innovation, and bottom-line financial management across all individual and group insurance, retirement and investment products and services, makes him uniquely qualified to lead and position the U.S. Life Insurance Companies for success well into the future.”
