Global Risk Partners (GRP), an investment vehicle aimed at insurance brokers and managing general agents, has acquired Gauntlet Insurance Services, a private client broker that specialises in high value assets.

handshakeBased in London, Gauntlet is responsible for covering assets valued at more than £8 billion, such as historic, fine town and country houses, fine art collections, jewellery, farms & estates, prestige vehicles and yachts.

The business was founded in 1982 by Harry Fitzalan Howard, who will stay with the business under GRP’s ownership alongside directors Steve Buckingham and Simon Aitken and all of the other staff.

Following the transaction Fitzalan Howard will become Chairman, while Buckingham will become Managing Director.

Gauntlet will retain its standalone status within GRP’s Retail Division, under the overall leadership of Group Managing Director Mike Bruce.
