Liability Management Company Gossmann & Cie has made two management changes in the Supervisory and Executive board of German re/insurer Schwarzmeer- und Ostseeversicherungs-AG (SOVAG).
Dr. Gerd Meyer has been the company’s Executive Board Member of SOVAG AG since 2017, and will join the Supervisory Board later this year.
Meyer holds over 40 years of experience in both insurance and non-insurance top management positions.
Joanna Aquilina will succeed him in the Executive Board of SOVAG and will take the role of Chief Financial Officer.
Aquilina joined Gossmann & Cie. in 2019 as an Executive Director of the Maltese insurance Carrier, and will continue in this position.
She’s previously held the position of CEO of the Maltese Protected Cell Company of DARAG Group, along with being the director of Aon Captive Insurance Managers (ACIM) in Malta and part of the ACIM leadership team for EMEA
She is a chartered accountant with an extensive background in regulatory and financial aspects as well as in the set-up of insurance companies and structures.
Last year Gossmann & Cie. announced its plans to purchase SOVAG via its holding company Minerva Capital GmbH.
