Gossmann & Cie. has introduced its new management team, including the appointment of Joanna Aquilina as Executive Director of Gossmann & Cie.’s new risk carrier, which is currently being setup in Malta.
Gossmann & Cie. was founded in 2018 by former DARAG Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Arndt Gossmann, to develop an innovative product for the continued optimisation of equity capital of non-life insurers.
Alongside Aquilina as Executive Director, the firm has also appointed Patrick Riecken to lead the transactions department as Head of Underwriting.
Aquilina previously served as CEO and was a member of the investment committee of the Maltese Protected Cell Company (PCC) of DARAG Group. Prior to this, she worked as a Director of Aon Insurance Managers in Malta and as part of the leadership team of Aon Captive Insurance Managers for EMEA.
Riecken most recently worked for Delvag Re, where he was head of the department responsible for Lufthansa reinsurance. He has previously worked for Gothaer Re and has extensive experience in the assessment of insurance portfolios.
