Great American Insurance Group adds Laura A. True to Cyber Risk Division

Property and casualty insurance, Great American Insurance Group has announced the appointment of Laura A. True as Divisional Vice President of its Cyber Risk Division.

In her new role, based in Hartford, Connecticut, True will lead a specialty underwriting team focusing on cyber risk and technology errors and omissions insurance for small- and medium- sized companies.

With over 20 years of experience in middle market underwriting, True is joining the company from cyber insurance provider, At-Bay, where she most recently served as Senior Underwriter of its cyber risk and technology errors and omissions (E&O) insurance business.

Prior to this, True served in various roles with Beazley Group, where she spent 15 years and Chubb Insurance, where she spent eight years of her career.

Commenting on True’s appointment, Betty Shepherd, Divisional President of Cyber Risk,said: “Laura’s expertise is a strong complement to Risk e-Business 2.0, our next generation cyber risk insurance product, which was released in late 2023.

“Her knowledge of the tech E&O market and strong relationships in the wholesale distribution channel will increase our presence in this space considerably.”

Trues appointment follows the hire of Gene J. Simpson as President of Republic Indemnity, Great American Insurance Group’s California-based workers’ compensation subsidiary.
