Great American Insurance Group has announced the promotion of Joseph Kowaleski to the role of Senior Vice President (SVP) & Chief Information Officer (CIO), succeeding James Niehaus, who will retire in January 2024 after more than 16 years of service with the company.
The change in role is effective from October 2nd, 2023.
Kowaleski joined the company in 2017, most recently serving as the Divisional SVP overseeing IT infrastructure and corporate applications.
In his new role, Kowaleski’s takes on responsibility for leading the IT strategic direction for the company.
Earlier in his career, Kowaleski held various IT leadership roles at an American multinational information technology company.
