Hamilton adds two industry veterans to its Board

Bermuda-based Hamilton Insurance Group Ltd., has announced that both Dr. Henna A. Karna and John J. Gauthier have been appointed to the firm’s Board of Directors, effective October 24, 2023.

hamilton-group-logoA highly experienced veteran, Karna boasts more than 25 years of experience in leading innovation across digital/data in high-tech, consumer packaged goods, risk management, and financial services/insurance industries.

Throughout her career, she has led businesses and advised Fortune 50 companies on digital strategies and product innovation.

In addition, she has also designed and developed patent-pending technology and applications within the fields of AI, genetic algorithms, behavioral analytics, deep neural nets, and advanced data technologies.

In her most recent role, Karna served as the General Manager, Managing Director, Global Insurance & Risk Management Solutions at Google Cloud.

Before she joined Google, Karna worked at AXA XL, where she served as the firm’s Global Chief Data Officer.

Over the course of her impressive career, she has served as President of Verisk Digital Services and VP of Customer Success at Verisk Analytics. Prior to that, she held the role of VP, Customer Strategy.

In addition, Karna previously served as the Managing Director & Global Actuarial CIO for AIG across Life and P&C, consumer and commercial insurance.

During the earlier stages of her career in the industry, she held positions at Affinnova, John Hancock Insurance, and also held cryptology related roles for the government.

Karna currently serves on the Boards of Essent Group and AtSign Company.

Moreover, Gauthier previously served as Chief Investment Officer of Allied World Assurance Company Holdings, AG. from 2008 to 2018. Gauthier also served as President of Allied World Financial Services Company, Inc. from 2012 until his retirement in 2018.

Prior to joining Allied World, Gauthier was a Managing Director with Goldman Sachs Asset Management.

Before he joined Goldman Sachs, he served as a Managing Director at Conning Asset Management where he led the firm’s P&C asset management practice.

Before that, Gauthier was with General Reinsurance/New England Asset Management and The Travelers.

He currently serves on the Boards of the Reinsurance Group of America (RGA) where he chairs the Investment Committee, The Hartford Funds and Middlesex (CT) Health Systems.

Hamilton recently filed a registration statement on Form S-1 with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) for a proposed underwritten initial public offering (IPO) of its common shares.

It was also revealed that the company intends to use the net proceeds to make capital contributions to its insurance and reinsurance operating subsidiaries.
