Hamilton Re announces changes to underwriting leadership

The Bermuda-based reinsurance arm of Hamilton Insurance Group, Hamilton Re, has announced some leadership changes as it positions itself as “a new kind of Tier 1 company.”

Hamilton Re logoKathleen Reardon, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Hamilton Re, has made a number of leadership changes to the firm’s underwriting functions, aligning talent with market opportunities.

This includes the promotion of Tim Duffin, Chief Underwriting Officer (CUO), Property, to the newly-established role of CUO, Reinsurance. In his new role, Duffin will be responsible for the oversight of the firm’s strategic growth and the development of its reinsurance portfolio, as well as assuming management oversight of Hamilton Re’s Property, Casualty and Specialty reinsurance operations.

The reinsurer has also appointed Claude Lefebvre as CUO, Partnerships & Casualty Reinsurance, where he will oversee the development of the company’s relationships with both AIG and Attune.

Susan Steinhoff, Senior Vice President (SVP), Property, has now been promoted to SVP, Head of Property Reinsurance, where she will lead Hamilton Re’s Property Reinsurance underwriting unit.
