Hamilton Underwriting Limited, the managing agency of Syndicate 3334 and the Lloyd’s operations of Hamilton Insurance Group, has appointed Robert Vetch as Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
Vetch joins Hamilton Underwriting from W.R. Berkley Corporation, where he spent the previous nine years as CFO for WRB Underwriting.
He has also worked as Finance Business Partner at Brit Global Markets, before which he spent seven years at QBE Insurance Group and four years at PwC, where he specialised in insurance and investment management.
As CFO for Hamilton Underwriting, Vetch succeeds Simon Barrett, who left Hamilton in December 2018 to pursue opportunities outside the company.
Vetch will now report to Dermot O’Donohoe, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Hamilton Underwriting, who commented: “It’s my pleasure to welcome Rob to the Hamilton team. We pride ourselves on attracting some of the best talent in the business, and Rob falls squarely into that category.
“As we continue to explore opportunities for profitable and sustainable growth, Rob’s experience and financial acumen will stand us in good stead.”
O’Donohoe continued: “I’d also like to take this opportunity to express our sincere appreciation to Simon Barrett, who was with us virtually from the beginning of our establishment and who played an integral role in laying the groundwork for our development as a diversified specialty syndicate. We wish Simon every success in his future endeavours.”
