HDI Global UK&I appoints Matthew Bond as Head of Energy & Power

HDI Global UK & Ireland (HDI) has announced the appointment of Matthew Bond as Head of Energy & Power, effective 2nd March 2026

HDI Global logoIn his new role, Bond will lead HDI’s Energy & Power portfolio across the UK and Ireland, focusing on further enhancing the firm’s proposition by combining specialist underwriting and engineering expertise within a cross-functional unit. He will report to Kate Sutcliffe, Chief Underwriting Officer – Short Tail, UK & Ireland.

Bond brings more than two decades of industry experience, with a strong track record in underwriting and engineering within the energy and power sector.

He joins HDI from AIG, where he most recently served as APAC Head of Energy & Construction, based in Singapore.

Prior to that, Bond was Portfolio Manager – Technical Property at Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance and also held roles at CNA Hardy and Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance.
