HDI TH!NX, a subsidiary of the HDI Group and a renowned leader in IIoT-based solutions and risk management, has unveiled Leak360, an innovative system designed to identify and prevent water leaks in buildings.

HDI Global logoRecognising that water leaks pose a significant financial burden, HDI TH!NX aims to provide round-the-clock protection and minimise potential damages through early detection.

Water leaks can arise from various sources, including damaged pipes, flooding, and malfunctioning flush systems. Public and commercial buildings, in particular, face heightened risks.

The occurrence of temporary vacancies, critical availability requirements, or aging infrastructure necessitates proactive measures to mitigate potential water damage.

Leak360 offers effective protection against major water damage by employing water, moisture, and frost sensors strategically positioned in exposed areas of the structure.

Additionally, water meters are continuously monitored to detect potential damage. By automatically identifying abnormal consumption patterns and damp areas, the sensors promptly alert designated individuals, enabling early intervention before the damage spreads within the building.

Notably, HDI TH!NX currently provides the design of a personalised leak protection concept to its customers at no charge. Leak360 is available to customers of HDI Global worldwide.

Dr. Barbara Klimaszewski-Blettner, Managing Director Germany at HDI Global, emphasises the importance of damage prevention and mitigation for both the company and its customers. Furthermore, HDI Global rewards the use of Leak360 as part of the insurance solution, such as reducing deductibles.

User-friendly operation and comprehensive coverage are at the core of Leak360’s design. The sensor solution employs a (LoRaWAN) gateway for communication, transmitting data and signals via mobile telephony to the service center.

This eliminates the need for internal customer or company networks. Customers can easily adjust notification settings individually through a PC or smartphone, ensuring timely alerts to the appropriate recipients in case of damage.

Leak360 is compatible with structures of all sizes and diverse use cases, making it a valuable preventive risk mitigation tool for both existing buildings and new constructions.

Dr. Verena Brenner, Managing Director of HDI TH!NX, highlights the significance of early detection in minimising damage to the building fabric, thus reducing costly business interruptions caused by extensive remediation work.

Additionally, continuous monitoring helps conserve water resources by avoiding unnecessary consumption, contributing to sustainable resource management.
