Guy Carpenter, the global reinsurance arm of brokerage Marsh, has announced the appointment of Henry Lawrence as a Managing Director of GC Fac UK, effective August 17th.
In this newly created role, Lawrence will be responsible for the U.S. region at GC Fac UK. The reinsurance broker explains that this new position forms part of a wider realignment process currently being implemented.
As part of this process, product teams are to be structured around geographical regions to promote the delivery of client-centric solutions, which reflect the unique exposure dynamics of each territory.
Lawrence will be based in London and will report to Dominic Samengo-Turner, Global Head of Facultative, Guy Carpenter.
He brings almost three decades of experience in the facultative market to the role, with a focus on North America. Lawrence joins the firm from rival broker Willis Towers Watson, where he served as Managing Director and Global Head of Broking, Facultative.
Samengo-Turner commented: “We are currently evolving the structure of our UK Facultative operations to ensure greater geographic and product alignment, and the development of highly customized facultative products that offer our clients a more expansive range of solutions. Henry is the perfect candidate to lead activities in the United States for GC Fac UK and is a fantastic addition to the global Facultative team.”
