Hermelingmeier to manage finance department at HDI Global Specialty SE

HDI Global Specialty SE has announced that with effect from March 1st, Thomas Stöckl will hand over management of the Finance Department at HDI Global Specialty to Dr. Christian Hermelingmeier.

HDI Global logoEarlier this year, Dr. Hermelingmeier was appointed to the Executive Board of HDI Global Specialty SE as Managing Director. HDI has confirmed that he will carry out this function alongside his role as Chief Financial Officer at HDI Global SE.

Stöckl will leave HDI after nine years of service with the company to tackle further career challenges.

Over the course of his tenure at HDI, Stöckl has served in a variety of roles, including ones at Hannover Rück SE, Inter Hannover SE and HDI Global Specialty SE.

“During this time, Thomas Stöckl and his team made a significant contribution to the continuous growth of the company, and supported the relocation of the headquarters from London to Hannover through his far-sighted approach at a pivotal point,” said Ralph Beutter, Member of the Board of Management at HDI Global SE and Chief Executive Officer at HDI Global Specialty SE.

“He also played an integral part in the conversion and strategic realignment of Inter Hannover to HDI Global Specialty SE as a joint venture. We would like to take this opportunity to thank him for his outstanding work and wish him all the best in both his personal and professional life.”

Dr. Hermelingmeier, added: “I’m excited about the close partnership with all employees, and I’m convinced that together we can continue the success story of HDI Global Specialty SE.”

Since September 2020, Dr. Hermelingmeier has served as HDI Global SE’s Chief Financial Officer. Previously, he was responsible for controlling in the Retail Germany segment of the Talanx Group. He gained experience in Industrial Lines insurance as Head of Operational Controlling at HDI Global SE from 2016 until the middle of 2018.

Further, HDI noted that the departure of Stöckl opens up the opportunity for the two Finance Departments to work closer together.
