Specialist insurer Hiscox has appointed Raymond Oral as Chief Technology Officer in the US.
According to the firm, Oral will report to Kevin Kerridge, Chief Executive Officer of Hiscox USA, as well as Chris Loake, Chief Information Officer of Hiscox Group.
Oral will serve on both the Hiscox US Leadership Team and the Hiscox Group IT Leadership Team, reportedly “guiding the US technology team through its transformation journey.”
His background includes leadership positions with Fortium Partners and nearly a decade spent with CNA Insurance as Chief Information Officer. At CNA, he led complex IT and claims-system initiatives.
Kevin Kerridge, Chief Executive Officer of Hiscox USA, commented on the appointment, “We’re thrilled that Ray is joining Hiscox to help shape the next chapter of our technology story.
“Ray’s depth of leadership experience will be paramount as we deliver increased competitive advantage through technology.”
In other Hiscox news, the firm recently announced collaborating with Google Cloud to create the first AI-enhanced lead underwriting model in the London Market insurance industry.
As per the announcement, the collaboration combines Hiscox London Market’s recently built technology platform – Hiscox AI Laboratories (Hailo), with Google Cloud’s generative AI technology to automate lead algorithmic underwriting from submission to quote.
