HIVE Underwriters, an independent specialty managing general agent (MGA), has expanded into specialty Marine insurance with the appointment of Nick Lewis as Marine Chief Underwriting Officer (CUO), effective July 2026.
The launch of Marine marks the next phase in HIVE’s evolution as a multi-line specialty MGA.
Under Lewis’ leadership, HIVE will develop a diverse Marine offering, focusing on specialist, niche areas where underwriting expertise, data-driven decision making, and strong broker alignment can deliver sustainable results.

This follows HIVE’s June 2025 announcement that it would expand into space insurance with the appointment of Jack Kenneally as Class Underwriter.
