Burns & Wilcox, an independent insurance wholesale broker and managing underwriter, has announced its further expansion in the UK with the addition of two new hires, Jeffrey Hobson and Martino D’Aliesio.
Based in Manchester, Hobson joins as Northern Regional Director. He has over 30 years of industry experience in underwriting and broking and has a proven track record of building high performing teams, growing businesses and providing strategic direction to deliver breakout growth.
He has held a number of leadership roles throughout his career, and led new business activities at some of the foremost insurance brands including AIG, Willis and, most recently, Chubb.
D’Aliesio was appointed Development Underwriter, bringing 30 years of dedicated Casualty experience with a specialisation in Construction Insurance to his new role.
He has worked for a number of Casualty specialists including Brit, Liberty and Lloyds. He has experience developing regional Casualty markets, which he will employ in helping develop Burns & Wilcox products and services in the West of England, working out of Bristol.
In addition, D’Aliesio manages his own Construction book of business, serving several key markets.

According to the announcement, these hires come as part of the company’s continued expansion in the country, which has seen more than a 50% increase in the team’s size in the past couple of years.
This comes fresh on the heels of the appointment of Jade Knight and Melissa Kalsi last year to develop the Burns & Wilcox Adult and Child Care Services Product Line.
